Charging an EV in Yerevan: home, street and the real monthly cost
Where the public chargers actually are, what a full charge costs at home versus on the street, and the 5-year math against a petrol Corolla.

The question every would-be EV owner in Yerevan asks first is not range — it is "where do I charge if I park on the street?" The honest answer: home charging is what makes the math work, and street charging is the backup, not the plan.
The monthly math
At the household night tariff, a typical crossover EV driven 1,500 km a month costs roughly what two tanks of petrol used to. Public fast chargers run several times the home rate — fine for a top-up, painful as a routine.
- Home AC (night tariff) — the baseline; a full charge overnight.
- Public AC — slow but cheap-ish; best while parked at work.
- DC fast — road-trip tool, not a daily habit.
If you cannot charge where the car sleeps, price the public tariff into your budget before you buy — not after.
Before you buy
- Check whether your building's wiring supports a 7 kW wall box.
- Ask the seller for the battery health report, not just the odometer.
- Remember the customs exemption for full EVs runs through the end of 2026 — it changes the landed price materially.
